And I quite enjoy browsing through my old photos in Camera Roll - I think I'm the only Flickr user who likes it! I'll probably get another drive - I've been looking at bare drives plus a USB dock - just in case Yahoo implodes. That used to be my backup strategy too, but I had a 1Tb external drive fail the other day, the second I've had go belly-up. a hundred clicks later and I'd made hardly any progress, argh.
So I'm sticking with my old backup strategy: external disks. The albums I didn't want disappeared with the photos. I took another approach and deleted most of my photos the ones I bulk uploaded.
Yeah, you pretty much have to do them one at a time. You may find that just doing them 5 or 10 at a time each time you come to Flickr is easier than trying to do it all at once. You still have to do them one at a time, but you don't have to load each album before you do so. The fastest way I know of is to go to your albums page, and then click the little garbage can icon at the lower right corner of the album. I don't know of any way to batch delete albums. I've been deleting them one at a time, but it's going to take hours. If you want to share a restricted image, you can always copy the photopage URL and paste it in a Flickrmail. The share button will not work for restricted photos, only safe and moderate.
